1. Relevance

Every person, as in any state, has a small homeland. With its special appearance, with its history, it appears to a person in childhood and remains with him for life. And it is so important for everyone to know the history of their village, school, family, know their roots. To know how the ancestors lived, how they fought, defending their Homeland, how they worked.

To preserve the memory of its descendants, the school Museum is called upon to form a strong interest in acquiring new knowledge of the history of its native land, the willingness to study it independently and to foster a love for its small homeland.

The Museum of local lore of Raevka secondary school traces its history back to the 50s of the XX Century. Then, under the guidance of a teacher of the history of Lapitsky Gregory (later the director of the school), students began to collect materials about the partisans of the brigade named after Frunze, stationed near the village of Raevka; about fellow villagers participating in the Great Patriotic War, about the history of the emergence of the Raevka cardboard factory, its owners (period until 1939) and directors of the post-war period.

The official date of the foundation of the Museum is February 21, 1987. Today, the Museum is located in a separate office of 30 m2. 835 exhibits of the Museum (424 of them are original) are systematized according to the following sections: ethnographic section – “Belarusian Hut”; “History of Raevka secondary school”; “Heroic and tragic pages of the Great Patriotic War” (the village of Raevka during the Great Patriotic War); “History of cardboard factory “Raevka”.

Now the equipment of the Museum, places of storage of exhibits, the room itself require modernization, which requires additional funding. It is also necessary to consider the location for the two plaques, which were previously located on the territory of the cardboard factory. All this is necessary so that local residents, guests and everyone can get information about historical events related to the small homeland. It is planned to update and replenish the museum’s materials about the heroic and tragic events of the Great Patriotic War (appeals to the embassies and archives of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Canada), to continue collecting information about the former owners of the cardboard factory “Raevka” (landlords Grigorovich and Bogdanovich) and the Directors of the factory in the post-war period.

Improvement of the Museum from a social position will allow becoming the center of civil-patriotic education, the connecting thread between educational institutions, local history museums, cultural institutions and public organizations of Molodechno district. The active use of the Museum’s exhibits has an impact on the development of the personality of students, the formation of their social activity, instills a sense of careful attitude to the history and nature of their native land, to the people living here, to the history and culture of their people, and therefore a sense of love for their Fatherland.
